Illustrated by Pennychoo owner Sue Lee in her trademark retro style, the three colour illustration features a well groomed and jaunty Jack Tar who displays his love for the seaside town on his bulging bicep. Behind him, jolly fishing tugs and sailing boats bob while gulls wheel overhead.
With the seaside a distant memory for a lot of people, and at a time when a lot of people are sitting indoors feeling frustrated while the sun shines, Sue decided to design something that would bring the seaside indoors. And is the print just for Brighton folk? “Absolutely not!” says Sue. “I mean, I would say this, obviously, but it’s just for anyone who loves being by the sea.”
Printed on thick, warm white paper for a retro look and feel, the print comes complete with a piece of thick backing board ready to drop into an A3 frame.
