Bobbi Gould, a digital nomad and self-described “laughlete” from Key West, Florida, has been crowned the 2025 American Laughing Champion – and she didn’t just laugh her way to the top.
She ROFLED there

“I’ve spent my life being told I smile too much,” she laughed. “It finally paid off.”
Gould literally rolled on the floor laughing, sealing her victory at the 10th Annual American Laughing Championship – a unique online event where competitors giggle, chortle, and snort their way through a series of outrageous challenges to claim the title of the nation’s most contagious laugh.
A longtime pioneer of joyful living, Gould blends high-vibe humor with social activism. Her latest project, Joy Walking, mixes laughter exercises with intentionally ridiculous public strolls.
This year’s competition tested participants with laugh-offs, snort-offs, and other absurd feats of hilarity.
But it was Gould’s unfiltered authenticity, boundless energy, and total physical surrender to laughter that won over the judges – and earned her a spot at the World Laughing Championship on September 20, 2025.
“The World Laughing Championship is shaping up to be the best – and most hilarious – yet,” said Albert Nerenberg, Laughologist and founder of the global laughing championship movement.
For the record: ROFL – “Rolling on the Floor Laughing” – is no longer just an internet meme. It’s a championship-winning strategy.
Gould is on a mission to ignite joy and spark resistance through laughter.
“Laughter isn’t escape,” she said. “It’s resistance. I’m here to Make America Laugh Again.”
